As part of the Sustainable City Year, the City of Redmond identified the downtown market as an area for further study and analysis. Redmond has devoted significant effort and investment into revitalizing this area and is now focusing its attention on building active clusters of businesses that will draw citizens to it for retail, services, entertainment, and housing. This project updated a study done in 2005 by the city with the latest research on what makes a healthy downtown. With a community-articulated goal to have a vibrant and active downtown, the goal of this project was to identify the most attractive consumer markets or business clusters for downtown Redmond along with a set of recommendations on how businesses can effectively reach these targeted consumersen_US
